Scottish oak has long been associated with strength and longevity and these qualities are reflected in our wooden pens made from this ancient tree.

The oak used to make this pen comes from windfall Oak tree branches found close to The Wood Hut workshop. We collect and store the Oak branches for two or three years until perfectly seasoned and ready to be carved into a beautiful wooden pen
This beautiful wooden pen and pencil set is made from locally grown and harvested Yew with 24 carat gold plate fittings. Each pen and pencil is individually handcrafted here at The Wood Hut workshop from unique pieces of Yew, with varying colour and grain pattern.
The sleek, elegant pen with a smooth twist action and the stunning pencil which has a push action are not only a joy to write with but are also wonderfully tactile to hold.
The Pen and Pencil are presented in a Maple box, which can be personalised with a brief inscription, and would make the perfect gift for a special occasion.

Handcrafted in our Highland workshop, these beautiful chrome or gold plated wooden pens are carved from antique whisky barrel staves, salvaged from a Pitlochry distillery. The golden aged Oak is a joy to hold and feel and the twist action mechanism and smooth ballpoint tip are a pleasure to write with.

Both the pen and pencil have been made from stunning Olive Wood from Bethlehem. For the eco conscious, the beauty of this being that no trees were felled or cut down in its production; these protected trees are merely pruned every autumn and the wood sold to craftsmen such as myself to produce these beautiful wooden pens.
The pen has a smooth Parker Pen type insert which is a joy to write with and has been mounted with gold plated fittings. The wooden pencil, also mounted with 24K gold plated fittings, has a fine replaceable propelling lead, suitable for fine detail drawing. These wooden pens and pencils are the perfect gift for a 5th wedding anniversary, unusual wooden birthday gift or wedding favours.

This prehistoric Oak has lain undisturbed in the peat bogs of Ireland for almost 5000 years. The oak is air dried for two years before we individually carve and mount the 24Kt gold plate or chrome fittings, turning this ancient wood into a beautiful writing instrument. The pen is propelled with a twist action and takes a standard ballpoint refill.
Each Bog Oak pen is presented in a wooden presentation box which can be personalised with a laser burnt inscription e.g. a name, date or special occasion such as 'Happy 5th Anniversary'. Please give inscription detail when adding to bag.

Purpleheart wood was commonly used for railway sleepers in the early 1900’s and we are please to give this extraordinary coloured hard wood a second life as a beautiful writing instrument
Both Pen and Pencil are mounted with stylish 24k gold plate fittings. The pen has a twist action which extends the parker style ball point and provides an extremely smooth writing action, while the pencil has a push action that propels the 0.7mm replaceable lead, which is suitable for fine detail and drawing.
